Life update!
I created this blog in January knowing full well I didn't have much free time to focus on blogging, and I am super sorry that I haven’t blogged now for a few months! I have been such a busy bee but I wanted to write a quick blog just to update you on what we have been up to.
Our crazy life - and it really is that! So much has been going on since January, I can hardly keep up myself.
If you follow me on social media you will know that Alan and I bought our first house together - yay! We collected our keys on 31st January and we are so incredibly happy. It’s a 1960’s house and needs a full renovation (we really don’t do things by halves!) It’s a huge project and unfortunately we can’t move in until the renovation is completed.. or maybe even half complete if we’re lucky. We are very new to this renovation malarkey however extremely excited. Planning permission takes weeks, even months, so we are just awaiting the final decision from the planning department and then we can get the ball rolling with the refurb - that’s when the real hard work will begin.
It will take a while for our house to become a home but we are very much looking forward to modernising and giving it a makeover - we have an amazing architect and a very talented team of interior designers to help us along the way.
Whist we are waiting on planning permission for our house, we have been renovating our very own standalone clinic for our Aesthetics company. Well, I say ‘we,’ but actually, we have a fantastic team who are renovating the clinic for us who I will tag below. We have had the premises since August last year but again we had to apply for planning, change of use and everything else that takes time and patience (something I very much lack!) Admittedly, I’m certainly not the most patient of people but I know it has been worth the wait as we have found the most amazing team of designers to help our vision become reality.
We will be sure to document our house renovation, I’ve actually created an Instagram account for the house which I will link below.
Putting the renovations to one side, we have been so busy with work. Alan is now a consultant in the NHS which is an unbelievable achievement and those who follow me will know how super proud I am. With this, Alan has been able to commit more time to Aesthetics, so we have increased the number of clinics we have per month. With the business constantly expanding, I am also having to commit more and more time (which of course, I don’t mind at all) however, it can take over your life at times and I constantly feel that we are in ‘business mode.’ We are very lucky that we share this journey together otherwise we would hardly see one another!
Whilst I’m on the subject of work, Alan is currently working on a very exciting project that I know will be super successful - it’s something he is really passionate about and I can’t wait for the launch. I am also working on my own mini project which I am hoping to launch this summer - watch this space.
It is crazy how quickly our scheduled ‘days off’ can fill up with either meetings, something work related or the unexpected. That’s something that we have had to accept with having our own business - lack of time. We do of course make sure that we have our own ‘personal time’ and shut down our business heads. It’s super important. We have recently got a pair of ‘limitless’ cards for Odeon cinema - we love going to the cinema (mainly for the popcorn and hotdogs, if I’m honest) but we are such film geeks. We need to plan our honeymoon which we still haven’t had chance to book but I’m sure we will get round to it - it’s definitely one of the things we have to look forward to.
With the ‘lack of time’ I have, I do occasionally feel like a rubbish friend. I can be awful at texting back on my personal phone, I’m even worse at arranging plans, although I do get round to it eventually! I am incredibly lucky that I have the most understanding friends and they completely get the fact that I don’t know where I will be from one day to another. If you are reading this - I love you and thank you for being so patient with me! I know I’m a nightmare.
So yes, that is our crazy life in a nutshell. Would I change anything? Absolutely not.
I am the happiest I have ever been in my entire life. I love how every day is different and I feel blessed to have such an amazing network of support.
Once the clinic is complete, I will have more time to blog. It’s something I’m really passionate about and I know you are all waiting on the Makeup/Skincare blog I promised!
I am hoping to get myself a new camera soon so I can actually Vlog as this will allow me to share so much more information on the products. I have created a YouTube channel which I will link below. I will film a ‘get to know’ me video as a cheeky introduction as I’ve already had some questions you guys have sent me to answer.
A day without learning is a day wasted, and I genuinely learn something new every day. Business is hard, but amazingly rewarding and I think providing you have the correct mind set and motivation - anyone can do it. I always look back at my past and the amount of times people have told me that I wasn’t good enough or made me feel that way is ridiculous. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel as though you aren't good enough, because you are. People who repeatadly attack your confidence and self-esteem are quite aware of your potential, even if you are not. I had an amazing response from my blog ‘It’s not luck, it’s hard work’ - I had a message from someone saying I’ve given her the motivation to do her nail course that she’s wanted to do for so long - YASS girl! Someone else left their current job to do what she has always wanted to do - wow. Wether you want to go back to college or uni to focus on your goals, wether you want to have a change of career or go travelling - do what is right for you. Never settle.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my life update, I promise you won’t have to wait as long to read my next one. I still actually can’t believe anyone is even interested in reading my blogs - it means the world.
All my love,
Kayleigh x
